ABOUT HASTINGS FIRE-RESUCE |
Formed in the spring of 1878, Hastings Fire Department was first organized after a New Year's Day fire destroyed the Thompson Hotel in downtown Hastings. As the mission of the department changed over the years Hastings Fire Department became Hastings Fire-Rescue, adjusting to public safety needs as the dangers evolved. Hastings Fire-Rescue continues its evolution in the 21st Century making envirnonmental awareness a department concern as it relates to citizens. The Red Gone Green program encomases the department's environmentally consious practices and education efforts. We are currently working on ways to conserve department resources, set an example for citizens and bolster green community efforts. Check back for more information about Red Gone Green and Hastings Fire-Resuce green solutions. |
